About Leslie

Leslie is a freelance photographer & artist residing in Dallas, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a Psychology minor and has an Associates Degree in Merchandising with an emphasis in Interior Design. As you can see, none of these degrees have helped in her professional career!

She loves making photographs that communicate (sometimes intense) feelings and are above all else, authentic. Her sincerity and passion for connection drive her journey into making the world the beautiful place we all know it can be. By connecting people through mediums like photography, we can encourage curiosity and make difficult topics digestible and easier to discuss — this way of shining light on subjects and topics allows for conversations that may not otherwise get the attention and responses they deserve.

Connection allows for vulnerability and being truly you — allowing others to see and share in who you really are. The narrative aspect of photography is what makes it so compelling, people love stories and we are all lovers of a quality conversation — we have been since the beginning of civilization. Leslie’s hope for taking photographs is to highlight human stories and stoke a loving curiosity for those around us, no matter how different we may seem.

Leslie is at her best when she feeds her curiosity and collaborates with those around her in pursuit of photographic projects. The biggest drive into photography is to amplify voices through photographic storytelling that may not have a “voice”. Storytelling in this way allows for the world to feel like a more connected, beautiful place.

“I like people who’ve seen some darkness

the haunted ones.

I like people who don’t claim to know what love is

the honest ones.”

-Florence Welch

Thank you for taking the time to look through my work. Most of the monochrome images on my site were developed, processed, and printed in a darkroom and were taken on a Canon A-1 with Kodak T-Max 400 film. The color photographs were taken with a Fujifilm X-e3 and were processed through Lightroom.

Work is not to be reproduced or used without the express permission of the artist. Thank you.
