Hi, I’m Leslie— a designer with a deep curiosity for meaningful experiences. Welcome, have a look around.

I started my career in hospitality…
A transition to UX/UI design felt natural because the fundamental skills I'd honed in hospitality translated seamlessly into design work. In hospitality, every day was an exercise in empathy, problem-solving, and adapting to users' needs - skills that now form the backbone of my design practice.
Leading teams taught me to facilitate collaboration and navigate complex needs, while managing a small business developed my ability to balance user satisfaction with business requirements.
What initially drew me to UX/UI design was discovering how the industry values diverse perspectives and non-traditional backgrounds. While I once viewed design as a narrow set of technical skills, my design education has revealed it to be an expansive field where my hospitality experience offers unique advantages. Understanding human behavior and needs from years of customer interaction has given me a distinct edge in user research and interface design. The ability to read people, anticipate needs, and create solutions under pressure - skills I developed managing busy cafes - now highlight my design thinking and problem-solving.
